Following the early hour protest by men of the Nigerian Police Force deployed to Maiduguri, Borno State over none payment of their allowances by the IGP.
The office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari summoned the Police boss. NAN reports that the IGP was seen heading to the office of the Chief of Staff to the president at the Presidential villa, Abuja.
A source who spoke on condition of anonymity at the presidential villa said that the inspector general of police was in the villa to brief the presidency over men of the Nigerian Police Force deployed to Maiduguri protest.
Meanwhile according to a statement by the Nigerian Police Force Public relation officer, Jimoh Moshood dismissed the police protest report by the media noting that the policemen only made enquiries on their allowances and salaries before returning to their duty post.
In the statement Jimoh also stated that the delay in the payment is due to late passage of the appropriation act adding that even with the absent of the president, the issue will soon be resolved.
