They stole our 1,000 cows that is why we attacked them back - Gololo

The leader of the Miyetti Allah cattle breeders has stated that criminals stole there 1,000 cows from the community that is why they retaliated.


The Benue state leader of the Miyetti Allah breeders association said that most of the killings in some communities was as a result of reprisal.
The leader, Gololo said, the retaliation that lead to the killing of the innocent Nigerians came as a result of about 1,000 cows stolen.

Speaking to BBC news, Gololo said that it all started when some commmunity people attacked the Fulani herdsmen who were trying to relocate their cows from the state. (Benue).

He also said about 1,000 cows were stolen while trying to relocate the cows at Nengere.

His words:

"As we were relocating to Taraba through Nasarawa state, thieves came to steal 1,000 ccows from us at the border town of Nengere, so we fought them back." 

He said.

Meanwhile on friday 5th January 2017, the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore condemned the attack stating it was unfortunate and condemnable.

It said this through the association publicity secretary, Alhaji Yusuf Ardo noting that the association upholds peace, harmony, love and unity in the country.
