Cross River State Government rescue mentally ill family after six years of roaming the streets

Cros River State government has rescued Mr. & Mrs. Ben Ogar in partnership with the Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital Calabar.

Mr. & Mrs. Ben Ogar popularly known as 'the Ogoja mentally deranged couple was said to has lost their means of livelihood while residents in Abuja six(6) years ago with two kids.

Reports have it that, Mr. Ben and wife had mental disorder after loosing everything and then relocated himself and wife to his country home, Ogoja in Cross River State.

On getting to his country home with is family, Mr. Ben refused to stay in his father's house rather, in a shanty. It was revealed that when members of the family found out the present condition of Mr. & Mrs. Ben, they rescued the kids from him.

Six years o roaming the streets Ogoja, Mr. & Mrs. Ben had produced three kids, two grls and a boy. 

Confirming the report, Doctors said Mr. Ben was suffering from a mental disorder, while his wife is only having the 'folie a deux' syndrome as a result of her husband's idealization.

The doctors revealed that, the children are in stable condition and are responding to treatment.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Inyang Asibong said that the mentally deranged family are in stable condition and treatment noting that they (Mr. & Mrs. Ben) will be rehabilitated and reintegrated into the society with continuous medical care and social welfare.
