The governor of Ekiti State Ayodele Fayose has raised an alarm over security operatives slapping and shooting at him.

Governor Fayose made the allegation in a the state capital Ado Ekiti at a rally organised by the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
The governor stressed that the security operatives were shooting and beating anybody who is seen campaigning for PDP. And when contacted those in place to call their boys to order they refused picking their calls.

The governor in his statement called on the international communities and lovers of democracy to hold the inspector general of Police if anything should happen to him.

His words.

"They (the police) are beating anybody who has any sign of PDP on them. They are not picking our calls, they have made up their minds to do this evil.

"I am in pain, I am in severe pain. I can't turn this neck anymore. If anything happens to me, the Inspector General of Police should be held accountable." Governor Fayose made this known to reporters while crying bitterly at the rally.

Governor Fayose disclosed this after security operatives drove PDP supporters from the Fajuyi Park Ado Ekiti were they had already gathered for a rally ahead of the Saturday governorship election.

The governor was said to lead the supporters back to the Fajuyi Park but the security operatives stopped them and started shooting into the air.

As a result of the crash between the security operatives and the PDP supporters they left the Fajuyi Park and moved down to the government house for the rally.

While addressing the supporters governor Fayose was seen wearing a neck brace calling on the international community to save Nigeria's democracy and Ekiti State.

"I am in pain but I prefer to bear these pains because of you. I plead with the international community, Nigeria is in trouble, Ekiti is in trouble."

"Please arise and stand for justice. They have arrested so many teachers, they have arrested so many okada (motorcycle) riders, they have arrested so many PDP members." He said.

On the part of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Habila Joshak said,

"The sitting governor is a governor that has been chosen by the people we did not go and block this place to prevent him. We will not like people to gather and start another rally. When you start that rally, containing you by using smoke is not the best option for now.

"The best option is that anybody who has not got the permission of congregating on a day like this in this state should not be allowed to do so.

"If they gather and I carry the men, it will be unfair for me to go and inflict injury on the people just to tell them don't go. Its better to be pre-emptive by telling them not to congregate politely." He said.
