BREAKING: INEC Announces Osun governorship election Inconclusive over number of cancelled votes

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has announced the 2018 Osun governorship election inconclusive following the numbers of cancelled votes.
According to the Electoral body(INEC), The governorship election was announced inconclusive because the number of cancelled votes is higher than the margin between the two major contestants in the 2018 Osun governorship election.

The returning officer for the election, professor Joseph Afuape declared the election inconclusive stating that the electoral body will announce a date when another ballot will take place.

His words:

"Unfortunately, as the returning officer, it is not possible to declare any party as the clear winner of this election at the first ballot.

"The Independent National Electoral Commission will announce a date when another ballot will take place. I hereby declear the election inconclusive." He said.

The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) candidate Ademola Adeleke had scored 254,698 votes while is closest contendant of the All Progressive Congress(APC), Gboyega Oyetola scored 254,345 votes.

The electoral body however stated that, the margin was less than 3,498 votes in the polling units where voting was cancelled.
