President Buhari fails to provide credentials to INEC redirects to the Military

President Muhammadu Buhari has submitted affidavit he swore to in place of his credentials to the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).


According to the Punch, President Muhammadu Buhari had informed the Electoral body INEC that his credentials are not with him as they were in the custody of the Nigerian Military.

The report revealed that the President had failed to submit the necessary documents needed from candidates vying for the position of the Presidency come 2019  general elections.

"I am the above named person and the deponent of this affidavit herein. All my academic qualification documents as filled in my Presidential form, APC/001/2015 are currently with the secretary of the military board as of the time of this affidavit.

It was gathered that all the credentials of those aspiring for the position of the presidency were made available to journalists yesterday, 25th October, 2018.

Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has submitted all the necessary documents needed for the position.

Atiku was said to have also attached his tax returns indicating he had paid N10.8m in tax from the year 2015 to 2017 and also submitted a diploma in Law from the Ahmadu Bello University in the year 1969 being his highest qualification.
