Former president Goodluck Jonathan inaugurated as Vice Chancellor in Uganda University

The former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan has bagged a new appointment in a Uganda University.

The peace loving former President was inaugurated as Vice Chancellor of Cavendish University Kampala, Uganda. 

The former President took to his verified Facebook page to express his gratitude to God and management of the institution for the offer.

"I pleased to have been formerly inaugurated as the Vice Chancellor Cavendish University, Uganda and to have performed my first official function in that capacity at the tenth Graduation Ceremony of the University today in Kampala, Uganda.

"I congratulate the new graduands and urged them to deploy their knowledge towards positively impacting people, building a community of reformers and improving the society.- GEJ."

The former President was accompanied with his wife, Patient Jonathan.

JUST IN: Bandits attack Nigerian Defence Academy kills 3, abduct others

Some armed men suspected to be bandits has attacked the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna in the early hours of Tuesday.

Eye witnesses said that the armed men had arrived the Nigerian Defence Academy at the early hours of Tuesday, 24th August, 2021 and started firing at the soldiers.

Reports also have it that three(3) soldiers where killed and others injured while two(2) majors where taken away by the bandits.

Some eye witnesses also said that though it was not really clear if students were abducted as the gun fire was very heavy.

In a statement issued by the Defence Headquarters regarding the attack, it said it has set a manhunt on the attackers as those involved will be apprehended.

Former President Obasanjo visits new crowned Olu of Warri

The former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has visited Ogiame Atuwatse III, Olu of Warri Kingdom.

Former President Obasanjo paid homage to the newly crowned King to congratulate him of his coronation.

This is as Governor Godswill Obaseki of Edo State also congratulated the Ogiame Atuwatse III Olu of Warri.

BREAKING: EFCC arrest former Abia State Governor and Son at the airport

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has just arrested former Governor of Abia State, Theodore A. Orji and his son at the airport.

Recall that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC had invited the former Governor over alleged diversion of N521 billion public fund.

Report have it that the former Governor and his son are currently in custody of the EFCC.

Suspected theft electrocuted while trying to steal cable wire in Akwa Ibom

An unidentified man suspected to be a theft has been electrocuted while trying to steal high tension cable wire in Akwa Ibom.

The incident which took place in the early hours of the night in Abiakpo road Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom as reported by a Facebook user.

The Facebook User identified as Blessing Bassey who posted the graphic photos on her timeline stressed that there has been no light for some days in the area when suddenly the light was put on and the suspected criminal was electrocuted as he was not having any safety vest when he was found in the morning electrocuted.

Another Facebook user, Yuddie Stephen also stated that the area has been suffering for lack of electricity due to constant stealing of their cable wire connecting to the transformer been vandalized by criminals. 

Iranian President vows to restore peace in Afghanistan

The President of Iran, Ebraham Raisi has vowed to see peace in Afghanistan following the current takeover of Kabul by the Talibans.

The President assured citizens in statement said that he will use his powers to engage the leadership of the Talibans to see that peace is restored in the country.

Meanwhile, the Talibans in it's first ever press conference said that the group has pardoned and given amnesty to everyone who fought against them in the past both citizens and foreigners.

The press conference which was help yesterday 17th August, 2021 also stated that Women are now allowed to go to school and will be allowed into some activities in line with the sharia law.

The group also pleaded with citizens who are trying to flee the country to remain and share their knowledge in building the economy of the country noting that it's soldiers has been instructed not to harass anyone in the country.

Messi in tears as he confirms leaving Barcelona FC

Lionel Messi has just confirmed leaving the Barcelona football club.

The football legend in a press conference on Sunday 8th August, 2021 disclosed that PSG is possible but at the moment nothing has been concluded as he has been receiving too many calls.

While addressing the press, Messi boosted in tears revealing that he has never wanted to leave camp nou noting that he has lived all his life in Barcelona.

"These recent days I've been given lots of thoughts to what I could say and the truth is that, I can't think of anything.

"This is really difficult for me after so many years being here my entire life. Lionel Messi said as tears drops from his eyes.

"I'm not ready for this and honestly last year with all the nonsense with the burofax, I was convinced I knew what I wanted to say. But this year is not the same.

"My family and I were convinced i wanted to stay here, that's all we all wanted more than anything. We thought we'd be staying here in Barcelona but today, I have to say goodbye to all of this.

"We've always made this our home, we're at home and we thought we'd be staying here in Barcelona. The time we've had here in the city and the sports has been amazing but today I have to say goodbye to all of this. He said.

This has made the football club, Barcelona fans protest and question the clubs inability in renewing the football legend contract causing so many worries and cries among the fans all over the world.

BREAKING: Lionel Messi leaves Barcelona Football Club

The Spanish Football club, Barcelona fc has announced Lionel Messi's contract renewal from the club over financial obstacles.

The Football legend, Lionel Messi's contract renewal in the club was said to be finalized today, Thursday 5th August, 2021 but was unsuccessful.

Lionel Messi's father being the football legend's agent was said to have meet with the clubs management in finalizing the fate of the prayer in the club as his seventeen (17) years contract in the club, Barcelona fc had expired today.

One of the clubs management revealed that the club regrets loosing the football legend, Lionel Messi over financial incapability of the club.

"Despite having reached an agreement between Barça and Lionel Messi and with the clear intention of both parties to sign a new contract today, it will not be possible to formalize due to economic and structural obstacles (Spanish La Liga regulations)". He said.

Meanwhile the football legend, Lionel Messi had earlier revealed that he would not want to leave the club noting that the club, Barcelona has helped him in building his carrier.

Akwa United wins NPFL 2020/2021 Season, Governor celebrates {Photos}

The Akwa United football team has won the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2020/2021 season.

After 24 years of the club establishment Akwa United FC finally wins the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL.

The State Governor, His Excellency Deacon Udom Emmanuel was live at the stadium to witness the final match within the state club.

The Governor took to his verified Facebook page to celebrate the victory, Udom Emmanuel congratulated the team said this is the first time since the establishment of the state club.

The State Governor also commended his administration for showing support for the state club and the team.

Inspector General of Police suspends Abba Kyari over fraud allegation

The Inspector General of Police has suspended the Deputy Commissioner of Police and the IRS boss, Abba Kyari over allegation levelled against him by the FBI.

The Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba stated that the suspension is to take infect on the 31th July 2021 to give room for proper investigation on the allegation levelled against the super cop

The FBI had accused the Nigerian super cop, Abba Kyari on his involvement with an internet fraudstar popularly known as Hushpuppi in duping a Quarter business man.

On Friday 30th July, 2021 the FBI had visited the Inspector General of Police in Nigeria showing documented evidence showing the communication and relationship between the Nigeria super cop, Abba Kyari and Raymond popularly known as Hushpuppi. 

Sources revealed that as at Friday 30th July, 2021 Abba Kyari did not come anywhere close to his office nor went to the Jumat Friday prayers by all Muslim faithful. Some say the Super cop fears extradition or arrest by the FBI.
