Former President Goodluck Jonathan, south-south governors other leaders lead Niger Delta rally calls for restructuring

The ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, south south governors and other leaders said to lead a rally for the call for restructuring.


In a statement by the chairman publicity of the rally, Chief Thompson Okorite said, there is need for Nigeria to be restructured before 2019 general election noting that it is doable.
Former president Goodluck Jonathan, present and past governors in the south south region and other leaders in the region is said to lead the rally calling for restructuring.


PANDEF tagged the rally "Restructuring the Nigerian Federation" insisting that the country should be restructured nbefore 2019. The nation reports that Chief A.K Horsfall and His Eminence, amayanabo of Nembe and King Edmund Daukoru are expected to grace the occasion.

"The governors, former president Jonathan, PANDEF leader, Chief Edwin Clark some eminent Nigerians and leaders of ethnic nationalities, civil society groups are expected to deliver speeches at the rally.


"Fellow Nigerians, let's restructure now, tomorrow may be too late. A restructured Nigeria will guarantee a free, fair, egalitarian, united, peaceful and prosperous nation where everybody, irrespective of region, religion creed and status will be happy.

"We intend to use the rally to rally support for restructuring of Nigeria. The 2019 general election is a referendum on Restructuring.


"We the people of the Niger Delta and south south want the Nigerian federation to be restructured to enthrone true federalism before the 2019 general election and it is doable.


"All that is required is a political will on the part of the president of the federal republic of Nigeria." He said.


Meanwhile, former and current National Assembly members and current and former speakers and members of House of Assembly in south south region are expected to also grace the occasion.
