The United States of America do not see IPOB as a terrorist Organization - US Embassy

The United States of America has come out openly to say that the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB is not a terrorist organization and is not recognized as such under the US law.



The Punch news paper reports that the spokesperson for the American Embassy in Nigerian, Russell Brooks has disclose the stance of the American government over the Nigerian government declaring the People of Indigenous People of Biafra as a terrorist Organization.

The US embassy spokesperson in his statement said that the United States of America is committed to the Unity of Nigeria and calls for peaceful resolution in the present crisis in the Nigerian State.

In the report Russell Brooks said,

"The United States Government is strongly committed to Nigeria's Unity. Important political and economic issues affecting the Nigerian people, such as the allocation of resources are worthwhile topics for respectful debate in a democracy.

"While the context of unity, we encourage all Nigerians to support a de-escalation of tensions and peaceful resolution of grievances.

"The Indigenous People of Biafra is a terrorist organization under the US law."

He said.
